Paragliding sport in Iran backs to the 90's. Alborz & Zagros are two chains of mountains in Iran that make many sites for paraglider & hang glider pilots to fly high. Most of flying sites have road to launch and of course to landing zone (LZ) area. There are about of 48 sites and increasing in number. Aab Sard flying site is located at east of town known as Damavand about 70 Km from Tehran. Launch area & LZ for hang glider & paraglider pilots are separate hence they would not disturb each other on launch & landing. Road to launch is usually closed in winter due to heavy snow fall, but in summer weather condition is thermic & dynamic make XC flight possible. Last summer (2007) national paragliding competition was held in here. In this shorted clip I avoided thermal to make this clip short, but actual recording was up to 16 minutes. Sun set view on mountain was fantastic & beautiful.
