Kyushu J7W1 Shinden
The Shinden or Magnificent Lightning was designed to be Japan´s first jet powered fighter. Three prototypes were built before the war ended and only three flights (all gear down) were made. The prototypes were equipped with piston engines because the jet engines that Germany tried to export to Japan never reached its destination.
The Shinden was a canard design with the horisontal stabilizers in front and the engine in the back in a pusher configuration. The plane was very different from other fighters of that periode, but compared to modern fighters it looks like the japanese engineers were on to something

ATTENTION!
This is not the Shinden model that a person who calls himself Uncle Willies is selling plans for. The Shinden in the video was designed by Michael Hammer and no plans have yet been published.

Killing Time in Kyushu: Sumo
I head out to the basho in Fukuoka to catch the only annual Sumo tournament in Kyushu. Even being my second time to watch sumo, it was still amazing, and I hope to make it an annual trip. If you have the opportunity to go, do it! Even if you think it might not might be your cup of tea it will be a great cultural experience and you'll get to see your fellow Japanese spectators in a more relaxed and jovial atmosphere.

Wakanohana II vs. Wajima : Kyushu 1978
13e jour du Kyushu 1978. Affrontement marathon (+ de 4 minutes en tant réel) entre les deux Yokozuna - encore invaincus - Wakanohana II et Wajima. Après arrêt du combat pour se reposer, Wakanohana remporte le combat par Yoritaoshi. Deux jours plus tard, il termine le tournoi invaincu (Zensho-Yusho) et remporte la seconde Coupe de l'Empereur de sa carrière.
