| Candi Prambanan Java Sanjaya dynasty Hindu kingdom margajebat. |
Candi Prambanan
Candi Prambanan is the grandest temple in Java apart from Borobudur. Located on the Prambanan plain, this sprawling temple complex sits majestically in an open area about twenty kilometers south of Mount Merapi, which dominates the horizon. The temple was constructed in the early ninth century by the Sanjaya dynasty, a flourishing Hindu kingdom that shared the island with the Buddhist Saliendra dynasty that built Borobudur. The relationship between the two dynasties is not clear, but one theory maintains that the Sanjayas constructed Candi Prambanan as a symbol of dynastic power in response to the construction of Borobudur. However, the Sanjayas do not seem to have been particularly antagonistic toward the Buddhist faith of the Saliendras?indeed, the temple complex is located just a few hundred meters south of Candi Sewu, a once awe-inspiring marvel of Buddhist art.

MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY IN THE WORLD
In Indonesia, the city of Bogor's kampungs, along its rivers and canals, should be a World Heritage Site, just like Borobudur Temple, Komodo National Park, Prambanan Temple, Ujung Kulon National Park, Sangiran Early Man Site, Lorentz National Park and Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra. Bogor needs to be saved, before it is destroyed by greedy developers. Already, in Indonesia, too many beautiful kampungs (houses used by ordinary people) have been taken over by the rich elite for the development of luxury houses, golf courses, shopping malls and factories.

Central Java
After being torn apart by riots several months ago, Solo has now risen and claimed back its identity, as the business and cultural city that never sleeps. On March 4th until March 14th , 1999, Solo held First-Class Products Expo '99, exhibiting superior products in automotive, electronic, real estate, banking, furniture, handicrafts, and fashion. The Expo also hosted a business seminar, which examined the business prospects in Solo. One thing has been examined enough : Solo is the city that never sleeps. As a business and cultural city, Solo's night life has never appeared to cease. At night, people usually enjoy the traditional food of Liwet rice along with a cup of tea, in the Keprabon, an area in Yogyakarta where locals usually gather for traditional meals.
Cultural tradition has also been passed through generations. With the two Sultanates in the city, Kasunanan and Mangkunegaran, Solo's cultural values have grown among the younger generation. Local government of the city has always nurtured ritual traditions, such as Maleman Sriwedari (celebrations welcoming the fasting month for the Moslems) , Kirab Pusaka (ritual of cleaning up inherited traditional swords), Grebeg Maulud and the Sekatenan (both celebrations of Prophet Mohammad's birth),
Tourists in Yogyakarta wishing to see the Ramayana dance at Prambanan temple, can join travel and tour packages offered by tour operators in Yogyakarta, through hotels all over the city. Tickets can be purchased individually from hotels and tour operators in Yogyakarta. Tourists should seek and confirm the show schedules first, before making the trip. As for the transportation to Prambanan, the temple's officials have provided shuttle buses with the price of Rp 3000 ( US 30 cents) one way, which is a cheap and comfortable option, rather than taking public transport.

Global Treasures Prambanan Java, Indonesia
GTR-DVD-1076 - Indonesia's largest Hindu holy place is Prambanan, in Central Java, a religious treasure that dates back to the 9th century and originally included 232 temples. An earthquake struck and for many centuries the buildings lay buried beneath the ground until, in 1918, archaeologists began to reconstruct the main temples.
The individual sections of the Candi Lorojongrang were rebuilt like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, which made the reconstruction process particularly laborious, but in 1953 the rebuilding of the central temples was completed.
The Candi Siva Temple rises 47 metres into the sky and is the tallest in Prambanan and contains four inner chambers that face the four points of the compass. The main Hindu god, Shiva, is depicted in the southern chamber, whilst the sculpture of his reborn wife, Durga, is located within the temple's northern chamber.
Thankfully, due to the hard work and determination of many archaeologists, the symbolic meaning of the old Hindu god, Shiva, God of Destruction and Renewal, is well on its way to being fully realised.
Global Treasures - History's Most Protected Monuments - Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live today, and what we pass on to future generations. our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration. Places as unique and diverse as the wilds of East Africa's Serengeti, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Baroque cathedrals of Latin America make up our world's heritage. Join us as we explore one of these protected monuments.

Ramayana: Rama chooses Anoman
In this 3rd excerpt from the Ramayana, Rama devises a plan to rescue Shinta and chooses the white monkey, Anoman, to search for her in Rahwana's kingdom Alengka. This scene is particularly nice because the breathtaking Hindu temple Prambanan in Java is directly in the background of this video.

| Pushkar lake Puskar ?????? Rajasthan ?????? Brahman ??????? Ajmer Hindus pilgrimage |
Pushkar, India
Pushkar (Hindi: ??????) is a town in the state of Rajasthan in India. Pushkar means born due to a flower. In Hindu mythology it is said that the gods released a swan with a lotus in its beak and let it fall on earth where Brahma would perform a grand yagna. The place where the lotus fell was called Pushkar. It is situated 14 Km from Ajmer and is one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites for devout Hindus.) It is often called "Tirth Raj" - the king of pilgrimage sites - and has in recent years become a popular destination for foreign tourists.
Pushkar lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. It has five principal temples, many smaller temples and 52 ghats where pilgrims descend to the lake to bathe in the sacred waters. One of the primary temples is the 14th century temple dedicated to Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. Very few temples to Lord Brahma exist anywhere in the world. Other temples of Brahma include those at Besakih in Bali, Bithoor in Uttar Pradesh, India, village asotra near balotra city of barmer district in rajasthan INDIA and Prambanan in Indonesia.
Pushkar is also famous for its annual Pushkar Camel Fair.
The natural environment of Pushkar and the sacred lake has become increasingly degraded in the last few decades. The problems stem mainly from overdevelopment of tourist facilities and the deforestation of the surrounding area[1]
