When I first started writing this song I wanted it to be about ugly things that occur in our world, or something controversial (i.e., world hunger, war, death penalty, abortion, global warming, child abuse, etc.) of one or more of the listed above. But it seems to me that one stuck out to me so I read a few articles on war and how it's effected families specifically. So I wrote a song about two lovers. She stays at home and dreads his time away, knowing he's not safe at war. You could also look at it as a mother missing her son who's gone to war. Either way I decided to make a tribute to those who miss their loved ones at war and want them back in their arms. Safe. It's about being afraid of the dark and having no one there to hold onto because everyone has left you alone. Lyrics: Falling deeper into this reign of darkness... The tears run down my face and form a trail of sadness. Swimming through my flooded tears, they drag me deeper, deeper nowhere, deeper nowhere. Holding on on tighter as I lose grasp, I'm not giving up this life of mine, as I go deeper, deeper nowhere. Hold on, don't let go, please don't leave, don't leave me here alone. They take my light away and that's forever. Frightened, by the darkness, my enemy, my frailty. Hold me tight don't let me fall, don't loosen away keep me close to you.
