Putting an end to the fires looks promising with some decent rain
forecast in the next few days and snow in the Alps on Christmas Day - who said
we couldn't have a white Christmas down under!


At long last we had a bright, hot day here with clean air to breathe.
Northerlies cleared smoke out and most of the area around Mt. Beauty has been
burnt now.


The problem fires are further south towards Mt. Buller ski area and they will be
hoping for the change to come quickly - strong northerlies are forecast for
Friday, so firefighters will be busy there again tomorrow.


The Bogong Cup is still going ahead as planned - cloudbase here of 11,000 feet
today:-)

It’s all good news after a pretty scary week.


There are now no fires in the Kiewa Valley.


Visibility is perfect - 30km+


All road access is open with the exception of the Falls Creek Road – there is
fire activity on the High Plains beyond Falls Creek.
