Got SPAM?
CNET, the NY Times, and NPR (Talk of the Nation) all get it 180
degrees wrong. NY Times article
here.
I receive 2,500 emails a day at my email address hosted at
http://www.emailsystems.com and all
but 50 or so a day are filtered out as SPAM (and a couple of viruses). I get one
or two SPAM messages a week. So as far as I'm concerned, the SPAM filter guys
are doing just fine.

We are currently dealing with a more-than-doubling in traffic in
the last three months; maybe the authors of the NY Times article thought that
sounded impossible so stuck to a more plausible number! The image spam is a
problem, but not too much of one; we have two good filtering providers that
catch it reasonably effectively and I am working on some ideas of my own.
