1 800 Skyride http://1800skyride.com Warning: Wolf in the Hen House. The US Parachuting Association has black balled these guys, and our flying community best get on board.
Skyride set up these Machiavellian websites - using the name of major cities followed by the sport, eg: Hang Gliding in Casper, Wyoming: http://1800skyride.com/HangGliding/Hanggliding/casper/index.html There is no school in Casper, WY. Skyride is selling adventure rides (hang gliding, parachuting, ballooning, sailplanes) off these . I-800 Skyride? Yeah sounds kind of cool, but there are actually harming our sport and other adventure outfitters, anything sport they feel they can prostitute to the public.
Four years ago we consulted a well-known hang gliding school about the credentials of "Skyride" - mainly we were concerned about being paid. The School give a thumbs up in that area, so we got on board the "Skyride." Back then not much on the internet "Skyride", contrary to complaints and litigation trailing them now http://www.funjumper.com/skyride /.
After several unprofessional dealings with "Skyride" we completely severed ties.
They set up these guided websites - promising Joe Public an adventure ride. Interested persons dials a 1-800 number and a salesperson sells a ride, paid for with a credit card. Skyride pawns the customer off on the vendor. Vendor explains what Joe Public actually gets for this overpriced adventure.
These websites are bogus and teeter on fraud. The sky diving community is livid over these guys. So is the ballooning community: http://www.hotairballooning.com/skyrides.php. Check out these sites and see for yourself. Or just do a simple google search on "skyride scam"
