It was always our intention that five wildcards could be allocated once our limit of 115 was reached, bringing the total to 120. This was done because no matter how well we try to publish competition registration dates there always seem to be some "top" pilots who miss out - Oleg and the Brasilians are a perfect example here. So it is possible wildcards may be offered to pilots like them. The rules didn't actually change at all, perhaps the part about the wildcards could have been published a little earlier but we didn't want top pilots hanging back thinking they would get a wildcard anyway if they didn't register.
