The wind speeds at Mt. Hotham were north at 26 knots gusting to 38 knots. These values indicated that the winds would be too high for a safe task and the day was called soon after 10 AM.

There are fifty five pilots here. The weather looks good for the coming days and week. A trough came through yesterday (and seems to be sticking around today). Now at 1 PM it looks like over development is likely. The winds are not high in the Kiewa valley yet.

There was a high fire danger yesterday with lightening around, but only a few fires started to our south and they were put out quickly. The air is clear here and there haven't really been any fires lately.

It has been quite warm in Victoria for the last few weeks and it has dried up. It was green here when we first came the first of November, but it is brown now (unlike NSW).
