Moyes Race and Rally, day five
The last day of the Moyes Race and Rally dawned windy and cloudless. I decided to drive to Forbes in order to see about getting a bit of work done on my harness on this day before New Years day. Some of the others stayed at the glider port hoping for a lull in the winds to launch safely.
We reported back from Wellington, which is on the route, that the winds were light. This encouraged eight pilots to launch. They found poor lift and most landed back at Gulgong. Mikki was able to get 30 kilometers.
At Forbes the billabong (which the town turned into a lake surrounded by a park) is full of water, so unlike last year. It continues to be green every where, but with the heat and the drying wind it should begin to turn brown.
