FAI sporting licenses - a central database?
... Will the NAC's really do this? ...

From the minutes of the CIVL Bureau meeting:
FAI Sporting Licence Database
It looks good and it is almost ready and will start to work on January 1 2008. It will be operational January 1st 2009. Flip Koetsier emphasised that the weak point – as with the old system of the sporting licences – is the NACs. NACs will be mandated to keep the database correct. It will be made mandatory that only pilots listed on the database will be eligible for entry in Category 1 events from Jan 2009.
Not to put to fine a point on it, but good luck. The NAC's will not do this well or at all. CIVL or the FAI had better come up with a way to automate the process with the NAC's. Discuss SL at the Oz Report forum
