Leo Bynum, chairman of the USHPA membership and development committee, wants to remind the local clubs that they need to treat their local land owners well and not forget them during the upcoming season of celebration. He writes:

In Missoula, no one ever bothered to send a fruit basket or even a Christmas card to the tower, university campus security (who control our access) for years and years. I think it made it much easier for the problems that ultimately arose. I'm sure that many chapters overlook this as well. It's amazing how far a little good will can go and how much forgiveness and understanding this can buy in advance before some difficulty arises.
