At dawn on days when the humidity and breezes are right, an enormous tubular cloud known as the Morning Glory rolls in from the sea, stretching across the horizon like a giant white door-stopper before quickly sweeping over the town, furiously sucking up the air and blacking out the sky like a scene from the sci-fi movie Independence Day.
