Are there any of you who would like to help out with ideas, programs, becoming an instructor and in general supporting this club? Many of you may not know this yet but my final goal is that this club will actively teach and be involved in four sporting venues: Hang gliding/paragliding, windsurfing (board sailing), white water kayaking and Scuba diving.

There is a method to this madness too. To give you a taste of that method let me help you realize that our hang gliding field location is exactly twenty minutes from incredibly good white water kayaking, a top rated Scuba facility and a lake where beginning kayaking and windsurfing can easily be taught. A windy day is great for teaching windsurfing. The idea of sending ten to twenty people to North Georgia to hang glide and discover that the wind is blowing too hard to teach is not acceptable to the clubs I have been in contact with.

Given the sports this club (as a whole) will be involved in we can offer alternatives. This gives a crowd that was put together from the Atlanta Ski Club (for example) options besides sitting around waiting for the wind to settle down on a windy morning. Let them go learn windsurfing or white water kayaking and come back in the afternoon if the wind settles. In a package three weekend deal we can offer any of the big Atlanta clubs three programs and probably give all of them a taste and beginning certification in three sports.

It beats making a beginner learn to hang wait after a long drive up here.

I'm dead set against hang waiting. It's the bane of the sport. I am not foolish either. I have already contacted and interested three other businesses that specialize in each of these sports to be prepared for the people we work with to learn beginning windsurfing, white water kayaking and scuba diving.

Please let me know if any of these concepts ignite a spark in you because my dream is big and I need help!

Finally is there any interest in those of you near (or far) to have a beginning kickoff meeting/party? I would enjoy meeting you and talking about this adventure.
