Angelo's wife writes:

I have the painful duty to make a terrible announcement: last week, during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Angelo took his life by drowning himself into the Lake Maggiore. Although his body could not be found, his death is beyond any doubt.

I will surely miss the very funny and engaging Angelo. He was always in good form and having a good time when I saw him, but there must have been a dark side. When we heard that he had tried to kill himself previously it seemed so out of character.

I remember having dinner with him, his wife, and children in Segillo at the Worlds. A one ring circus.

My best wishes to his family.
