GLIDING TO A TITLE: Congratulations are in order for Paul Kelley of Annapolis for capturing first place in the recent East Coast Hang Gliding Championships. The event that took place at Highland Aerosports in Ridgely, Md., was shortened by three days - the first day of the competition by rain and two others because of heavy winds.

The Oz Report on Kelley's final day of flying read: "Paul Kelley, who has been patient, won the day by going slow and staying high, his strategy every day. He landed about ten kilometers from goal. Since we have only made goal on one day, and Paul won that day getting out early, racing has not played any part in the scoring."
