This year the 7th Éva Menyhárt Memorial Hang Gliding Competition was the Hungarian National, too. We had five tasks on the average in the last years, but this comp was really outstanding with eight days of competition. The weather was good to compete every single day, though we did not have the very best flatland weather. It means we could fly without gloves (cloudbase up to 2000 m), thermals were max 2.5 m/s and very smooth.

It was usually quite windy (6-8 m/s at 1000 m), so we had 80-120 km tailwind/side wind tasks. We have changed the grid system for aerotowing at take off to the lane method that is used in major aerotow comps, like at Forbes. It worked much better, with less organisers needed.

The American Army had moved away from Taszár (they had an airspace that was one fifth of the whole Hungarian air), so we could fly areas where we had never flown before: the ridges south from the Lake Balaton.
