The Transportation Security Administration apparently has rules which tell their "inspectors" to not cut parachutes. That didn't seem to stop them from taking a knife to Jonny Durand's Moyes Matrix Race harness parachute pouch and making an eight inch slice through it. He was traveling from  LA to Orlando and his harness was in checked baggage. The parachute wasn't harmed.

If you are coming to the US, and traveling on aircraft from say New York to Dallas, you might to make sure that you have a little note on your harness that you have a parachute in that pouch. Let me apologize in advance for the state of fear that our country lives in.
