Silent Flight? No, not really

... Flying and fighting with wind noise ...

I've been thinking about wind noise lately. Maybe you have to. If so, respond to this small article and tell me what you are thinking about.

I noticed that I experienced a lot more wind noise when I was riding my bike into the wind and that I didn't like it. I already knew that I didn't like wind noise when flying. I looked for something that would cut down the noise significantly. I found and checked these out: http://www.slipstreamz.com/content.asp?subID=8. Nice, but they only cut down the wind noise about 30%. I was hoping for a lot more.

I noticed if I cupped my hands in front (not over) of my ears the wind noise went to virtually zero. I don't know of any product that replicates my hands in front of my ears, but I would get one and I wouldn't really care about how goofy it looked. Maybe just big ear phones? What do you think?

I tried combining ear plugs with the Slipstreamz and that cut down on the noise volume, but the same amount of wind noise was being created. Earplugs helped a bit, but they weren't the solution.

I've flown with earplugs and sure that is quieter, but still no solution. I would love to fly without having to listen to the wind noise. My Flytec 5030 is plenty loud (I have to turn it down to 25 or 50% volume), sometimes way too loud. I wonder if there is anything I can add to my helmet top cut down the wind noise.

I have a full face helmet with a visor. Is it possible to cut out the wind noise? Like with my hands?
