The Second Annual Open National Championship Lumby Air Race's will
be held June 8,9 and 10, 2007 for Hang Gliders and Paragliders in Lumby British
Columbia Canada.



This years Race will follow the Canadian National Hang Gliding Championships in
Lumby and possibly another special event for Paragliders.



This will be the 9th year Lumby has been chosen the host community for the Hang
Gliding Nationals since the first Lumby Days meet in 1976.



HPAC and FAI sanctioning is in process.



The format will be valley triangle racing around mountains near the town of
Lumby Friday, Saturday and Sunday in conjunction with Lumby Days as usual.
$2000.00 in cash was awarded in 2006. $1500.00 has been secured so far for this
year thanks to the Lumby Days Society and Raven Aviation Ltd. $5000.00 is the
target for 2007 and it looks like we will make it if all goes well.



A limited entry cap of 50-60 entrants is being considered for this event.



Mark Dowsett will do the scoring for both meets this year.



There may be a single surface Hang Glider class at this years LAR so the
intermediate flyers can race against each other in the spirit of fun and
education, if there is enough interest. Let us know!



Onsite camping at the Lumby Air Park landing zone with wireless Internet and
decent cell coverage will only be $10.00/night or $20.00 for all 4 nights.
Regular accommodations are close by.



Registration for the race will only be $50.00, thanks to sponsors, which
includes a wristband for the Big Celebration of Life Fire, National Hang Gliding
Champion Awards with Live Music and Dancing in the hanger Sat eve.



Wrist bands for the celebration Sat eve. Only are $20.00
