The morning started with thick low clouds scuttling out of the north east. The
sun just couldn't find a way through them. The clouds were thick enough so the
heat from the day before had stayed through the night. It was balmy as I headed
out for my morning ride to the west.



The forecast was for a chance of rain and winds at 13 to 17 knots. After three
days of light winds we were not excited about a windy day, especially with the
low clouds.



But the winds weren't that bad and the cloud base rose and the sky opened up
around noon. A couple of pilots flew including Paris who pinned off at 400' when
he got bounced sideways in a thermal right over the club house as we all looked
on.



He stayed in the thermal and then later had to come back at 500' and take it
again from the same spot to get up to the thick clouds  above him. There
was a little bit of drift out of the northeast.



The flying looked basically mellow.



Around  4 PM the clouds thickened again and there was rain around us but
only a little here. The wind picked up with gust fronts coming through.



It looks like a go far day on Sunday and a reasonable flying day on Saturday
without too much wind.
