The flight on Leonardo.



The winds stay lighter out of the east. The cu's start early around 10 AM. They
are thin and stay that way all day, except when the sky goes blue. (The cu's
were so thick when it was windy.)



There are more than dozen pilots here for a good time and we start out at 1:30
PM. The lift starts out at 600 fpm so I pin off and climb out with a couple of
bald eagles and quickly head east to highway 27 as the cu's disappear, but the
lift doesn't.



The rest of the folks are hanging out under a thick c; back south of Quest, and
I run back to them and we get up and head south east to the intersection of
highway 474 and 27. The sky blues out north back toward Quest, but I find a
wisp, get up to 4,600' and go on a ten mile final glide for a two and a half
hour flight.



About an hour later at 5 PM the cu's return and fill the sky. This doesn't
happen that often and it sure looks like late flights would have been
spectacular.
