Hang On - hung out?

Doesn't anyone want a foot launch hang gliding competition on the
west coast?

It is hard to plan a great event without early sign ups. Planning
is important to have a successful event. At this time only ten pilots have
registered for the event. I am quite concerned. (Rat Race was 80 percent full on
the first day of registration and VIP2 Paragliding Nationals is 50% full.)

I need to get the word out that early registration is needed in order to plan
and pull this event off. I have made trips to Lakeview and secured the local
fairground building for a headquarters with a kitchen, classroom setting for
pilot meetings, GPS classes, etc. The city of Lakeview is organizing with the
local fund raising groups in Lakeview to come to the headquarters three mornings
and provide breakfast for the pilots. All very hard to commit to if there is
truly no interest in this event.

David Glover and I worked hard to get Mike and Gail to put on this
event on the west coast at one of the best cross country sites in the country.
We wanted to be sure that all those California pilots had a great event to go to
that was foot launched.

So is there just no interest in a major foot launch hang gliding competition any
more? Has it all gone in towing?
