With the World Championships being on North American soil for the first time in
any of our Hang gliding careers, it has brought a great deal of drive to
Canadian Hang Glider pilots to get onto our National team. It takes two years of
dedicated competing to get on the National team and it has now officially been
selected. We are trying to share the experience with our friends and family
through this new website.
It will be the central place to cheer the Canadian Hang Gliding Team as they
venture towards the World Championships in Texas in August. It is meant as a perpetual site
rather than just stop at the Worlds and you'll be able to tune in here to watch
the Team's progress at other events they compete at.
It'll mainly be a centralized place for the team members'
blogs but will
also have feeds from
other popular
blogs related to competitions as well as a live feed to the
Oz Report blog (the World's
most popular source for Hang Gliding news) - it's updated every 15 minutes. If
you are technically inclined, you can subscribe your RSS news reader to the Team
blog at http://canadiannationalteam.ca/blog/feed or the "News Feeds" at
http://canadiannationalteam.ca/aggregator/rss.
Other features of the site is the
photo
gallery and the
events calendar
- it'll have events the Team Members are hosting or going to and will also have
some tools we'll be using for fund raising so you can help support your National
Team. Stay tuned for more on that.
