2011 World Championships - Day 7

Will the World Championships be an almost complete bust? Will the cost per
flying/task day be much higher than what you can get in Australia (or Big
Spring, Texas)? Is Europe (even southern Europe south of the Alps) an
appropriate venue for hang gliding competitions? Maybe Spain? Photos from the first day/task
here (on Facebook) from Belinda. Photos from Tom Weissenberg (also Facebook)
here. He is also one of the few to agree with me that last Thursday (windy,
remember?) was a taskable day. http://www.klemencicmatjaz.blogspot.com/
Sprog checking before the start of the competition. http://naughtylawyertravels.blogspot.com http://timaonasalturas.blogspot.com/ Monday, the task is cancelled. We were the first competitors who arrived at
launch. Blowing strong in on the north side. In the cloud. Substantial rain.
After five minutes we headed down and found the restaurant/hotel behind the
launch that was open and had a lot of the competition staff at it drinking
coffee. We figured it was better there than confined to the car. Then the real
rain began. At 11:30 AM the task was cancelled.
