At the briefing for task 2 (the only completed task so far), the
team leaders were called aside to discuss the fact that all but a dozen of the
competition wings flying here do not have a load test that is valid according to
section 7 (12.1.6 as Steve quotes). They decided nothing could be done there and
then because they did not have the documents on launch to decide which gliders
had valid load tests and which didn't.

The pilots were then briefed and told that it had become apparent that most of
them were flying gliders that had not been shock tested. The meet director told
the pilots that it was up to them to decide whether it was safe for them to fly,
and the organisation would not be responsible if their lines failed.

Lots of worried pilots then flew the task, and it was a really cracking task...
none of the gliders failed.

The CIVL representatives and the team leaders then discussed the issue at the
next team leader breifing, and decided they didn't have the balls to apply the
rules as they are written.
