Dalby over the weekend

Even though we have had (as we are usually blessed with) a pretty good winter's flying season at Dalby we are now entering the best flying time of the year for the Darling Downs where conditions give the right mix for some top rate soaring. Even when the weather is quite changeable it can still turn it on.
Last week end we had quite a crowd getting warmed up for the season ahead with a real good turn out Phil Pritchard, Big Jon, Raef, Flocky, Gabor and Morgan, Bruce and Annie, Blaino, and Jase. Even Kiro flew in from Newcastle in his Lancair (everyone is pretty green with envy I can tell you) for a nice flight south east to Warwick (140km).
Besides the hangies, Selwyn and Greg (Trike pilots from Tara) and of course Smokey were all in attendance to make a great day of it Saturday. There was a cold front out west that was supposed to be pushing through late Sunday but it came through a bit earlier than expected which meant that the Saturday was the only decent day to make a go of it. That was a shame as we also had Boof and Paul come out expecting to get a fly on the Sunday that never eventuated, they even missed the BBQ breakfast Blaino whipped up.
Anyway no need for me to babble on about it here is a nice little video Jason threw together to give you a good appreciation of what was on offer Saturday http://vimeo.com/1749102.
