New Pods from Flytec

We are pleased to announce that we now have two new exceptional pods for the 6030/Compeo+. One for the 6030 by itself and one for the 6030 with the Garmin Geko. They are both very aerodynamic and light. The 6030 only pod is designed to attach to the base tube and can be extended forward about 5" in flight. The 6030/Geko pod has an internal pitot tube and uses the Flytec Universal bracket (so it can attach to base or downtube).
More information on these new pods as well as compete selection of other pod configurations here: http://flytec.com/Products/racing_pods.htm

Pricing can be found here: http://flytec.com/Products/Price_List.htm They are both the same price at $329. You need to have or purchase a standard bracket for the first pod. It is found at the top of the products page linked to above.
The point of these pods is to get the 6030/Compeo+ out in front a bit so that it can be seen when you are pulled in and racing between thermals or into goal. Next, they are aerodynamically shaped so that may or may not reduce the drag of the instrument. Dustin's pod (the first one) has a slot for a Geko, which is an inexpensive GPS backup . It doesn't display maps, but does take 500 waypoints and 10,000 track log points.
