Steve Kroop of Flytec (and Brauniger) USA will provide prize money for the 2009 WRE for US hang glider and paraglider pilots flying with instruments purchased from Flytec or Brauniger USA. Break the World Record (be the one who breaks the World Record by the furthest during the WRE) and earn $1,000. Be the one who breaks the 500 mile barrier the furthest and earn an additional $1,500, for a total of $2,500. Almost enough to pay for the diesel. Both the hang gliding and paragliding record (good luck to paragliders going 500 miles).

So get ready for the WRE in 2009. We will be watching the weather and see what the big patterns are. I'll keep folks informed in advance of the possibility of record weather and you can decide to come or not.
