Gary Osoba landed his Woodstock light sailplane at 7:30 PM at Cone, Texas. That would make it by a rough distance calculation, 487 miles, which we believe may be the new world record for a light sailplane. Gary claims the Woodstock gets about 25:1 glide ratio. Charlie, the airport manager here in Zapata, is prime to go pick him up in an airplane tomorrow and fly him back to Zapata. He can trailer the plane home to Kansas from Cone.
