Hang Gliding as an Olympic Sport?
In the June issue of the USHPA's hang gliding and paragliding magazine (I have mail forwarding and was in Europe, so I just got mine), Ryan Voight dreams of hang gliding as an Olympic sport. The article isn't really about that, it is about starting a new hang gliding school, but I can't help but mention just how bad this idea is.
A couple of words should indicate why. "WADA" and "Floyd Landis." Being an Olympic sport means drug testing, and that is the last thing we need in hang gliding.
