Why not some cool branding?

Not surprisingly, the Bat Kite was a real hit as a photo opportunity for festival visitors. Both young and old wanted to pose under it. Since the glider is brand new, it has only been flown by the test pilots at Wills Wing. Winds have not been cooperative since Batman took delivery. You can see it below.

Why not build hang gliders that have instant recognizability? Why not relate to young pilots yet to be? Why not use symbols that have meaning to these folks?
It is hard for folks outside the hang gliding community to see and understand quickly what they are actually seeing when they look at a hang glider. It means something completely different to them. We can help them understand and accept much more quickly by providing symbols that they are already familiar with.
What are those symbols? What do they mean to the wider world? There are many such symbols, a whole cultural language that we rarely use. We are in such an insolated world.
