Flying in Lakeview, part 2

Here is the location of the east facing launch that Mike Tingey and I built west of Lakeview. We had to build a platform to get out from the cliff. A 4 by 8 sheet of plywood did not seem long enough so we added another two feet. Two pilots launched off it last year and managed to get up.
The reason that Mike surveyed this area for a launch is because the clouds first form right above here every day. We were hoping the rock face would pick up enough morning sun to allow a 10:30 am launch. We are using extreme caution launching till we can gather some operating data on this site.
After the last launch, we decided we need to install tie-downs for the wire crew. We're going to work on that this year. Progress is slow because tools and materials have to be hiked in 1/4 mile. Have you ever tried to carry five gallons of water (for the cement) 1/4 mile, and then go back and get the cement?
