Stanwell Tops
After a leisurely breakfast at Warren Windsports world headquarters www.warrenwindsports.com and www.warrenwindsports.com.au (the new site in development) we headed out for Bald Hill on the north side of Stanwell Park for a little coastal soaring. The forecast was for the winds, which were perfect yesterday, to go a little bit north, and therefore not be so perfect or even that good at Bald Hill. We took our time and by the time we got there around noon, after we saw lots of paragliders high running down the escarpment, the wind was beginning to shift to the north. Curt went for his paraglider and I set up the Airborne C4 - 13.5. Others moved to the upper launch.
The winds stayed good and didn't switch to the north at all, but stayed due east. The launch was perfect with 10 mph winds and it was easy to fly up and down the coast with paragliders crossing the gap to the south to get up on the escarpment. Flying to the north well into the Royal National Park was a breeze also.

It promotes the highway from the Royal National Park down to Wollongong. Check out the highway on stilts over the ocean. Speaking of tourism here: http://www.illawarrafly.com/.

The Sea Breeze forecast for Stanwell has changed from east northeast to easterly flows over the next few days (http://ozreport.com/ozweather.php). It looks like Stanwell is on. It was packed today (for a week day). Lots of paragliders going cross country.
