The Project:

In previous seasons we experienced that before the big Flatland competitions after Christmas - the best time to fly cross country in Australia - many national and international pilots would like to test fly their new wings out there and/or get in shape for the upcoming event.

To make this possible for you, this year we arranged the Moyes Rally.

Bill and his tug pilots, and some more Moyes boys such as Atilla, Gerolf, Lukas and Noma will help arrange a number of cross country flights for you, where you can either experience more of the flying arena around Forbes, get your glider tuned - or both.

We'll start this tour on 27th of December, out at Rylstone airport (a 3-4 hour drive from Sydney to the NW, coordinates: S 32 46' 14.44'', E 149 59' 34.78''), 9 AM with a first briefing to make a further schedule for the next days. Camping is available at clubhouse or go to www.rylstone.com.

If things go according to plan, we will move on from Rylstone to Gulgong, tow out of Gulgong Airport (S 32 19' 27.99'', E 149 31' 29.96'') for two days or so and then move on to Forbes, our final destination on the 31st for New Year's Eve.

We will keep things as flexible as possible to best adjust to the weather - so you should aim to be flexible too.

Aside from assisting you with the towing, XC-tips (task setting) and glider tuning, Atilla, Lukas and Gerolf will hold short talks and discussions on various matters of competition flying.

Organisation:

You bring:

• Your glider and flying equipment (tow release, GPS and cables, radio gear..)


• Your car and a driver


• Some money to cover the cost for towing


• An eski full of beverages

We bring:

• Dragonflys plus pilots and fuel to tow you up at the specified locations


• Some Moyes boys to help and run the show

Fee's - Please pay cash:

You're a Moyes pilot and bought a new Moyes glider this season:

• 150 $ for towing, tuning and the course


• Or 40 $ per tow, without tuning and course

You're a Moyes pilot and bought your glider earlier:

• 200 $ for towing, tuning and the course


• Or 40 $ per tow, without tuning and course

You fly another brand glider:

• 250 $ for towing and the course


• Or 40 $ per tow, without tuning and course

There is some additional fee for the airports, depending where we fly to.

Pilots who book the course have priority on tow and we take a max no of 20 pilots (2 tugs) for the course.

The pilots booked for the single tow's can get on tow afterwards
