Now I have my sights on Cuba, whose proximity to the US makes it a
prime candidate for development. The Cubans make, on average, $10 to $25 per month. Yet, they have managed to
maintain an organized club of free flyers (all paragliders) made possible
through equipment donations. There is one hang glider in Cuba and some beautiful
flying sites. Yet, hang gliding is unique because it makes it extremely easy to
provide safer flying experiences to anyone on almost flat idyllic beaches and
fields. I would like to raise money for the purchase of one Wills Wing Alpha 210 trainer
glider, several harnesses and shipment costs that would be used by a thoroughly
trained apprentice Cuban instructor. An intelligent, athletic Cuban Instructor
could duplicate the service we have in western Oregon and start a community of
hang glider and paraglider pilots, making your upcoming trip to Cuba that much
more interesting.
