But I did anyway. I have to make sure that I'm feeling as good as I can when I'm flying. I tend to
push hard on my toes especially in the Convert harness where the boot plate
slopes back. My right big toe starts to ache if I'm wearing even the lightest of
shoes. I have to often remind myself to push with my heels, not my toes. Today I flew without shoes, a first for me in Australia and I had no pain in my
feet so I could forget about them. My left shoulder has had two Cortizone shots in the last year and I have done
physical therapy on the inflamed long head bicep tendon. The idea is to keep the
tension on the base tube light to non existent. Still the muscles ache. I keep
working on it. The right shoulder has a bruised bone, due to being hit by a car. The harness
was poking the bone and breaking the skin. It's patched up now thanks to Thea
from the organizers and there is foam zip tied to the back plate. It's perfect
now and not getting at all sore. The neck hurts even with the head pulley. I just keep the craning to a minimum. Active pain management is all part of my flying. No need to feel the pain, just
do something about it in flight. Landed in a harvested wheat field so that there would be no burrs.
