Haven't drunk the koolaid

In the landing zone yesterday (December 31st) at Wellington Attila
"mentioned" to me that I hadn't written anything nice about the Moyes Litespeed
RX 3.5 that I have been flying here in the competition. I guess he forgot about
this: http://ozreport.com/17.253#6. Attila is a big supporter of the Oz Report, so
it is hard to imagine how he missed this article. Perhaps he meant that I hadn't
written anything lately.

So, any way, how do I like the RX 3.5? Well, it handles very nicely and glides
with everyone else that I've been near enough to tell. Even with the Dynamic
Flight wheels on my carbon fiber basetube. After flying it for four competition
tasks I've got a pretty good feel for it as I've relaxed and let the glider do
the work.

At first I couldn't get the glider to fly fast, but I'm getting much better at
that. It is easy to put the VG on with a very short VG rope. The bar pressure is
very pleasantly light when the VG is as full on as I can get it. A little more
practice and I'll have this down. (It's not fair or reasonable to write in any
detail about a glider until one gets enough air time on it.)

It is a bit of a handful in gaggles when I'm inclined to try to toss it around
trying to stay out of other pilot's way. I'm getting better at that with it.
I've significantly relaxed my death grip on the base bar.

Pilots have told me that I'm climbing well in the glider. I was matching and
just staying above Jonas as we flew together today in light broken lift.

I have found the glider lands well, but I've only tested it in windy conditions.
I landed on my wheels on the first day when landing in a thermal that was just
breaking off. Otherwise it seems easy with a nice steady approach even when
being tossed around by the wind and bits of lift. I was able to bring it in in
monkey twice.

If I was to purchase such a glider the only concern I would have is the sail
cloth. It seems susceptible to damage with the carbon fibers exposed too easily.

How do I get to fly different gliders? I trade for Oz Report advertising space.
I don't own a glider and just use a glider for competition. Moyes gets a quarter
of advertising ($600) to let me rent their glider for eight days of the
competition. I am not beholding to any particular manufacturer.
