Georgetown World Record Encampment

A nice little flight
here.

Chris Zimmerman hauled me up at 10:05. I think that he bounced off the ground
twice, but I held on and he didn't let me go. I've gone to being towed off the
keel and my chest so the bar pressure is much reduced.

There were thin cu's in a street over the airfield at Chris' house. The wind was
straighter down the runway than the previous Monday when we decided not to risk
it.

I pinned off at about 900', in what seemed like a large area of reasonable lift,
maybe 200 fpm. The wind was 24 mph out of the south southwest. I was turning
under small cu's.

The lift was weak and I didn't get high, not above 2,100' AGL, but it was
perfectly pleasant. I was continuously turning and staying in the weak lift as
the wind blew me to the north northeast.

I couldn't actually orient myself with respect to the road or a direction as I
was continually turning and focusing on staying up as I was not high and the
wind was so strong. As the morning progressed, the cu's started to thin out as
they always seem to do around 11 AM. I moved to the east to get under some
forming cu's but didn't find any lift.

I landed 40 minutes into the flight a few miles east of Schwertner
on highway 487, near were I had been bicycling a few days before.
