Flying site over two volcanoes: Merriam Crater in the north and Sheba Crater located south of the street. When the flyers in Arizona discovered the „Craters“ for itself, they felt like the Flyer-Nirvana. Larry Newman, the first man to cross the atlantic in a balloon, new technology is tested here.

The stories of „Crater-Hopping“ between Merriam and Sheba are legendary. Today however more people fly sooner from the higher Mt. Elden, but the old heros that have mad so many Cross-Country-tours here throw a melancholy look across the landscape.
