XC´hallenge was created by Turbulência Parapente Clube to establish distance records in paragliding at different national flight sites.
In 2002, year of its first edition, the happenning was organized together by Turbulência Parapente Clube and Club Azibo Aventura with the support of Câmara Municipal of Macedo de Cavaleiros.
In 2003, 2004 and 2005 XC´hallenge was not only a meeting but also a competition F.A.I. 2, scoring for the National Ranking of Parapente. In its program there were also other social, cultural and sports events. XC searches to reflect the philosophy of T. P. C. which is not confined to the sportsmanlike point of view through competition, but
- tries to promote association, inviting other clubs and entities to participate in the events
- aims at promoting this particular activity, taking paragliding beyond those who practice air sports by expanding the activity to the community through Câmaras Municipais, Juntas Freguesias, schools and other entities and associations.
- takes advantage of possible flight sites carrying out the events and promoting the localities.
- demystifies paragliding and glider, promoting the interaction with society and mostly with the host community.
- encourages similar events, whether social-cultural or sportive and provides contact with the paragliding area of activity and the exchange of experiences.
