When asked for tandem insurance the DHV office informs its members
that there are other insurance companies which offer cheaper prices than
HDI-Gerling, the partner of DHV, does. For the time being HDI-Gerling will not
reduce its price because of high damage costs. HDI-Gerling had to pay because of
badly hurt passengers in recent years. German law protects the rights of
passengers extremely well.

HDI-Gerling covers 2.5 Million Euros. It costs 471,90 € a year and covers both
hang gliding and paragliding tandem flying. See

HDI-Gerling is a long term reliable partner of DHV who does not get nervous in
bad times. We have seen other companies enter and leave the market during the
last thirty years.

The DHV does not get a share of the profit margin of its insurance partner.
HDI-Gerling is paying DHV a fair price for the work done by the DHV office. The
DHV works for 34,000 members.

The DHV president and all members of the DHV board of directors do not get any
salary. They work voluntarily and of course they take care that none of the DHV
employees is getting a minister salary.
