Paraglider towing
Stewart Midwinter writes:
Short summary - pilot was winching, first flight after a couple of
weeks. Held back too long on launch, so tension was high. Towline ran in deep
grass, so until it lifted off the ground, he didn't feel the real tension (and
winch operator kept increasing it). He was pulled into a stall, and fell 10m.
Broke his wrist and his tibia and was in hospital a week.
He recommends that each winch operator set a max. tension that they will never
exceed under any circumstances.
Here\'s the video.
