As many of you know, in early-March one of our pilots was
solo-flying our tow-plane in a reckless manner, and totaled our airplane doing
an unauthorized high-risk maneuver. No customers or community members were
involved in the accident, and the pilot has been treated for his injuries and is
in recovery. Our backup tow plane was currently being serviced at the time, so
business operations were halted when our only airplane was out of commission.
With this accident occurring right at the cusp of the COVID-19 pandemic, our
business took a huge hit not only from loss of income but the costs of repairing
one plane and replacing another. It costs almost $30,000 to replace a tow plane
specifically designed for hang gliding. We are trying to get back on our feet
amidst this struggling time, and we would greatly appreciate any and all help
our community can provide for us. We are hoping to raise these funds by the end
of June so we are open and ready for business when the community is ready to
fly.
