A photographer cloud-surfing in a glider has captured an
incredible image of "morning glory cloud" over north-west Queensland.
Michael Zupanc's shot is so good he earned himself a spot in the Bureau of
Meteorology's official 2020 calendar and his picture, On Cloud Nine, will
feature for the month of June.
The picture was taken in September 2018, but after months of open entries and
judging, it was unveiled on Wednesday as one of 13 images selected for the
national weather calendar.
The phenomenon consistently occurs above Burketown, an isolated town and
locality in far north-western Queensland and 660 kilometres west of Cairns.
