A flood like this has never been seen here in Norway, at this time
of year.
Usually, the valley of Vågå, where the Norwegian National Center for Hang
Gliding and Paragliding is located, may be flooded in June. Since its opening in
1992, the Center has been damaged by flood three times, but it has always been
repaired. Now, it's possible that it will not be restored. There is too much
damage.
In the mountains, last week we had extreme heat for this time of the year.
Normally it is below zero, and snow is building up. This week, there has been
temperatures 10-15 degree C, melting all the snow, combined with heavy rain and
warm winds.
