Will there be a French Open in 2017?

A bit less than five weeks now until the French Open and only
thirteen pilots have pre-registered pilots (nine French) and none have prepaid.

Even tough the number of French pilots at the national championship keeps going
down (as well as the number of competitors altogether) year after year, it must
be the lowest of all time. It is indeed low for a championship but in addition
to the sport aspect, we just reviewed the forecasted budget down (i.e. cutting
out the music band) and we won't break even below 20-25 pilots.

After some email exchanges with the head of the French competition commission,
the following criteria were validated so that the championship could be held and
organised in a proper way answering FAI and NAC requirements and guidelines:

· Twenty five pre-registered pilots at one month and then 20 prepaid at three
weeks.

If these criteria are not met we will have to seriously reconsider the
organization of the championship.

Registration is  through the FFVL web site and here is the link for foreign
pilots:
https://delta.ffvl.fr/open_comps_registration_form/53/list.

Pilots will then have to register on Airtribune page.

Hoping to see many pilots register to this last FAI Comp of the season in
southern Europe in one amazing and historical cross country site in the Southern
Alps.
