2016 European Championships
Christian wins the day and the competition just barely ahead of
Alex
With Alex Ploner 13 points behind Christian Ciech at the start of
the day, the last task turned into an exciting race with Alex and Christian tied
together the whole. They approached the last turnpoint close to goal at the same
altitude at the same distance from goal (2.7 km from goal). Christian made the
turn a tiny bit quicker than Alex, as Alex went in a slight bit deeper. The
result was that Christian came out of the turn 150 meters ahead and raced faster
into goal.
Tim Grabowski came in first and won the Class 5 World Championship.
