Elk Mountain is frequented more often in Spring and Fall and is appreciated for its height. The long distance flight record set by Rich Sauer in 1990 still stands at over 65 Miles towards Esparto. To fly at this site you need a Hang 3 Level.

Flug
A wide river pin points the landing area, that above all in summer can be described as 'thrilling'. The Pilots ability to judge and estimate flying conditions to fly at this site is critical.
Schwierigkeit
The field lies West from Clear Lake on Scotts Valley road. The field belongs to Elizabeth Wise. In this direction it is a very attractive place to land here, but the owner has reapeatedly spoken with the Sheriff and requested that her field is not landed in, therefore please resist the temptation to land here. The neighbour, the owns the field further to the south has also made his standings clear.
